SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT
Tuesday, October 24, 2017
This is a Special Weather Statement from the National Emergency Management Office in collaboration with the National Weather Service in Koror that due to a tropical storm northeast of Palau, numerous heavy showers, isolated thunderstorm and windier conditions (up to 30MPH) associated with this storm are expected through Wednesday. Wind speed will slightly decrease by Thursday.
Sea conditions could become hazardous with wind waves of 10 to 13 feet developing along West and North facing shores this evening before falling to between 9 to 11 feet on Wednesday.
The public is also reminded to secure any loose items around their residences and to take precaution when driving to and from the Babeldaob area for possible flooding, landslides, and debris.
** THERE ARE NO TYPHOON WATCHES OR WARNING IN EFFECT FOR PALAU AT THIS TIME**
