SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT

This is a Special Weather Statement UPDATE from the National Emergency Management Office in collaboration with the National Weather Service updating the public that heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms and windier conditions (up to 45MPH) is expected tonight through Wednesday. From Wednesday night to Sunday, wind speeds will slowly decrease as well as showers and thunderstorms. The center of this storm is currently 250 miles Northwest of Koror, Palau, moving away slowly at about 3MPH as of 8:00PM today.
**THERE ARE NO TYPHOON WATCHES OR WARNINGS IN EFFECT FOR PALAU.**
Sea and Surf conditions are hazardous at this time with a combination of swells and wind waves across Palau.
The public is reminded to secure any loose items around their residences and to take precaution when driving for possible flooding, landslides/mudslides and debris.
NEMO and the National Weather Service will continue to monitor weather conditions and will update the public accordingly.
