President Remengesau to Keynote University of Hawai’i at Hilo Commencement Exercise; and Attend the 73rd United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Meeting in Thailand
At the invitation of Chancellor Donald Straney of the University of Hawai’i at Hilo, President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. departed Palau on May 10 to deliver his keynote address at the University’s 2017 Spring Commencement Exercise scheduled on Saturday, May 13th.
From there, President Remengesau will travel to Thailand to attend the 73rd United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Meeting with the theme of “Regional Cooperation for Sustainable Energy”.
President Remengesau is expected to join other world leaders and senior officials including President Baron Divavesi Waqa of Nauru, Prime Minister Enele Sosene Sopoaga of Tuvalu and Prime Minister Samuela ‘Akilisi Pohiva of Tonga.
The UNESCAP Meeting will be held at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok from May 15-19, 2017.
