President Remengesau Recognizes Palau’s 2018 Outstanding Students and Presents the 2018 Presidential Valedictorian Award

On June 6th, President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. hosted the 3rd annual dinner to recognize and congratulate Palau’s 2018 Outstanding Students.

The President took the opportunity to encourage the students to take full advantage of the many educational opportunities available to further their education and become Palau’s leaders. “You are not leaders of tomorrow. You are leaders starting today. Life is never going to be easy. You will make mistakes. You will fall, but pick yourself up. Don’t give up on your dreams or your goals. Don’t think of yourself as a failure and believe others can, but you can’t because each of us is born the same and we have the God given talents to use it to the best of our abilities and potential. So go out there and create your future. Don’t wait for destiny to be upon you. Create your destiny. Create your future. Be the man and be the woman you are entitled to be”, remarked President Remengesau.

President Remengesau and Education Minister Sinton Soalablai presented 79 outstanding students with 3.5 GPA and above with a Certificate of Recognition further acknowledging their outstanding academic achievements.

High school valedictorians, Justice Tungel Remoket of Emmaus-Bethania High School, Madrey Polloi of Mindszenty High School, Jerry-Lyn Singeo of Palau Mission Academy Britney Blaluk of Palau High School and Augusta Ilemelong of Belau Modekngei School, were each awarded with the 2018 Presidential Valedictorian Award with an all-expense paid trip to Disneyland in Hong Kong with their family.
