President Remengesau Encourages 10th Basic Police Academy Cadets to Strive Above and Beyond the Call of Duty
Addressing the 23 police cadets of the 10th Basic Police Academy who graduated from the program on July 14th, President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. encouraged and urged the cadets to strive above and beyond the call of duty in their law enforcement careers.
“Law enforcement is a profession that requires one to perform above and beyond the call of duty,” said President Remengesau. He further stated, “Palau needs you. We need your passion in the protection of life and property and maintaining peace.”
The cadets, most of whom have joined the police force where urged to establish good working relationships with the Office of the Attorney General and all law enforcement agencies.
During the ceremony held at the Palau Community College Cafeteria, six outstanding cadets were awarded and recognized for their achievements in Academic Excellence, Physical Fitness, Against All Odds, Outstanding Leadership, Perfect Attendance and Top Gun.
The 10th Basic Police Academy was a 14-week training program from April 17 to June 14, 2017.
