President Remengesau Appoints Norihiko Tsukui as Honorary Consul General of Palau to Chubu Consular District in Japan

On February 14th, President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. appointed Norihiko Tsukui as Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Palau to the Chubu Consular District with residence in Tokyo, Japan.

President Remengesau expressed deep appreciation and sincere gratitude to Honorary Consul General Tsukui for assuming this voluntary role to strengthen and foster friendship and relations between the Republic of Palau, Chubu Consular District and Japan.

Honorary Consul General Tsukui accepted his appointment with enthusiasm and renewed commitment and expressed desires to work on behalf of Palau to bolster sustainable tourism, economic investments and friendly relations with Chubu Consular District.

Honorary Consul General Tsukui was accompanied by Palau’s Ambassador to Japan Francis Matsutaro, his wife and members of his delegation comprising of sake and hotel business owners.

The delegate had the opportunity to meet Paramount Chief Ibedul Yutaka M. Gibbons, Paramount Chief Reklai Raphael B. Ngirmang, Chief Justice Arthur Ngiraklsong, Vice Speaker Lucio Ngiraiwet, Senator Aric Nakamura and Cabinet Ministers during his courtesy visit with President Remengesau held at the National Capitol.
