President Remengesau Accredits New United Arab Emirates Ambassador

On July 27th, President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. accredited His Excellency Hamad Saeed Hamad Obaid Alzaabi as the second non-resident Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Republic of Palau with residence in the Philippines.

Welcoming and congratulating Ambassador Alzaabi, President Remengesau stated, “I am confident that with your impressive background, experience and proven leadership abilities, we will work together to nurture and further enhance our existing bilateral relations and to overcome the many global challenges we face today.”

President Remengesau further extended Palau’s appreciation of UAE’s continued support and partnership, including the recent financing and installation of solar and water treatment systems in the outlying states through the UAE-Pacific Partnership Program.

In extending regards from President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the UAE leadership, Ambassador Alzaabi expressed his commitment to explore other areas for partnership and further promote cooperation between both countries on areas of mutual interests.

The Republic of Palau and the UAE formally established diplomatic ties in 2009.
