President Remengesau Accredits new Ambassador of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Palau

On February 2nd, President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. accredited H.E. Daniel Robert Pruce, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the Northern Ireland to the Republic of Palau.

President Remengesau expressed the importance of ocean protection and security during the Presentation of Credentials Ceremony held at the National Capitol stating, “Palau, as a small island nation is taking bold steps forward towards saving our mother earth. Big ideas can indeed come from small places.” He further expressed sincere desires to work closely and in partnership with the Government of Great Britain and the Northern Ireland in the hosting of the upcoming “Our Oceans” Conference 2020 in Palau.

Ambassador Pruce expressed honor and privilege in assuming his new role and expressed commitment to work with the People and Government of Palau on issues of mutual interests as well as to continue to foster relations shared by both nations. He further expressed commitment to bolster sustainable tourism and economic investments from the United Kingdom.

The ceremony was witnessed by Paramount Chief Reklai Raphael B. Ngirmang, Chief Justice Arthur Ngiraklsong, Senator Aric Nakamura, Delegate Mario Gulibert, Postmaster General Timothy Sinsak, and Cabinet Ministers.
