President Remengesau Accredits 1st Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Palau

 On November 22, President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. accredited the first non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Palau during a presentation of credentials ceremony held at the Office of the President’s Satellite Office in Meyuns, Koror.

President Remengesau expressed his gratitude to the Government of Cuba for extending its medical scholarship program to Palau where 10 young Palauan men and women are currently pursuing their respective degrees in the medical field. He further expressed Palau’s commitment to work closely with the Cuban Government on important issues of mutual concern.

Ambassador Lago has served in the Cuban Foreign Service for more than 20 years. He is accredited to the Republic of Palau with residence in Suva, Fiji.
