Ministry of Education Curriculum and Instruction Director Recognized for Clean Audit Reporting
On August 30, President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. joined Minister Elbuchel Sadang, Minister Sinton Soalablai and Public Auditor Satrunino Tewid in recognizing Curriculum and Instruction Director Debbie Tkel-Sbal’s dedication and efforts in maintaining a clean audit report for the Territories and Freely Associated States Educational Grant Program (T&FASEG), a U.S. Federal grant program in 2017.
At the first Principals Forum for the 2018-2019 school year held at the Ministry of Education Building in Koror, President Remengesau commended Director Tkel-Sbal for receiving an unmodified opinion for the T&FASEG Program she administered last year and encouraged all government departments to follow her example to ensure proper reporting of grants received.
An unmodified opinion in audits indicates that through the Office of the Public Auditor’s examination of the grant, no financial statements revealed any actual or possible material misstatements. In addition, all financial statements and materials were presented according to the financial reporting policies.
Director Tkel-Sbal was awarded with a Certificate of Excellence witnessed by public elementary school principals, MOE management team and members of the MOH management team.
