Ibaraki Congressmen and Delegation to the 3rd Anniversary of the Imperial Visit Thanks Palau for its Hospitality
Ibaraki Prefecture Congressmen and members of Palau-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Association visited President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. at the National Capitol in Ngerulmud on April 10th to personally convey their deepest appreciation of the People of Palau’s warm hospitality during the occasion of the Third Anniversary of the Imperial Visit in Peleliu.
President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. encouraged the delegation to continue to do their part to foster and strengthen the special relationship Ibaraki and Japan shares with the Republic of Palau.
Ibaraki congressman Umino Toru, who led the delegation of twenty officials from Ibaraki Prefecture as well as the members of the Association, reiterated the group’s unwavering commitment to the Palau-Japan friendship.
The historical visit made by His Majesty Emperor Akihito and Her Majesty Empress Michiko was celebrated in Peleliu is a Peleliu State recognized holiday. The celebration ceremony was held on Monday, April 9.
